On-device first. Cloud transparent. Deleted on use. Recording and live transcription run entirely on your iPhone with no network access. Cloud transcription and AI features work only when you actively use them after explicit first-time authorization, and uploaded audio is deleted as soon as transcription completes. We never sell your data, use it for advertising, access your contacts, or build user profiles.
01Overview
Kuaijie Miaoji (“this app”) is a voice-recording and transcription tool: record meetings, interviews, or ideas, see live transcription to text, and manage recordings, transcripts, and AI summaries on your device. The app’s capabilities come in two layers:
On-device features (default): recording, live transcription, transcript management, export and sharing — all performed locally, fully offline, with no data collection;
Cloud features (optional): cloud transcription with speaker separation, AI summaries, AI Q&A and translation, and membership — triggered only by members’ active actions and processed as described in this policy.
Before any cloud feature is used for the first time, the app shows an authorization notice. You may decline (“不同意”) and keep using every on-device feature — declining does not affect any local capability.
The app has no account system, no ads, and no third-party analytics components.

The app does not collect location, contacts, photos, browsing behavior, or advertising identifiers, and performs no user profiling or cross-app tracking.
03Permissions
Microphone
Used only when you actively start a recording, to capture sound as an audio file. Audio is stored locally on your device by default.
Speech Recognition
Live transcription uses Apple’s on-device speech recognition. Recognition runs entirely on your device; your speech never leaves it, and no internet connection is needed.
Both permissions can be reviewed or turned off at any time in system Settings; doing so does not affect browsing or managing recordings you have already saved.
04On-device transcription: never leaves your device
Live recording transcription, recording management, transcript viewing, export, and sharing all run locally: audio files stay in the app’s sandbox, and recognition uses Apple’s on-device speech frameworks with no network requests. All of these features work fully offline.
05Cloud transcription: deleted on use
Cloud transcription is a membership feature for high-accuracy recognition and speaker separation on long recordings. Only when you actively start cloud transcription:
the audio file is uploaded over an encrypted connection to our speech-recognition provider (Volcengine) for processing;
the server deletes the audio as soon as transcription completes, keeping only the text result returned to your device;
audio from failed jobs is also automatically purged within 24 hours;
the server offers no audio re-download — uploaded audio cannot be retrieved by anyone afterwards.
06AI summaries, Q&A, and translation
When generating AI summaries or using AI Q&A and translation, the transcript text (not audio) is sent to a cloud large language model (Doubao, provided by Volcengine Ark) to generate the result, which is then stored only on your device. Your content is not used for model training.
Every cloud AI use is preceded by a clear authorization prompt, and AI-generated content is visibly labeled in the interface.
07Device identifiers, quotas, and purchases
When using cloud features, the app registers an API credential bound to a device identifier for authentication, free-quota accounting (quota resets monthly and is shown live in the app), and abuse prevention. It is not used to identify your real identity.
Memberships are purchased through Apple In-App Purchase; the transaction is handled by Apple, and we receive only the information necessary to complete and verify the entitlement. Subscriptions can be managed or canceled anytime in your App Store account settings; the app’s paywall includes a “Restore Purchase” option.

Each provider acts as a processor and handles only the data necessary to complete the function, with no right to use it for any other purpose.
09Storage and deletion
Audio files, transcripts, AI summaries, and time markers are stored by default in the app’s local sandbox on your device. Deleting a recording in the app also deletes all of its transcript content, summaries, and markers; uninstalling the app removes every piece of data it stores on your device.
Audio uploaded to the cloud is deleted as described in section 05. Local data, once deleted, cannot be recovered — please handle important recordings with care.
10What we never do
Sell any of your data;
Use your data for advertising or cross-app tracking;
Access contacts, location, photos, or anything unrelated to the app’s function;
Build user profiles;
Use your audio or text to train any model.
11Feedback
The Settings screen offers a “Feedback” entry that opens the system Mail app to compose a message directly to the developer. The email is sent from your own mail account straight to the developer; whether to send, and what to include, is entirely up to you.
12Children’s privacy
This app is not directed at children under 13, and children are not asked to provide any personal information. Cloud features require an account with payment capability; if a parent discovers an unauthorized purchase made by a child, a refund can be requested through Apple.
13Changes to this policy
This policy applies to Kuaijie Miaoji for iOS 1.1 and later. The earlier version 1.0 is a fully offline app that makes no network requests and collects no data; its zero-collection commitment remains unaffected. If a future version changes how data is handled, this page will be updated with a revised effective date before release, and material changes will be announced in the app.
